Krauss-Maffei Wegmann’s (KMW) motto this year is combat proven in Afghanistan. Instead of presenting new vehicles they are showing their well known ones that are used by different nations in Afghanistan with slide upgrades or improvements. At display you can find the LEOPARD main battle tank in the version 2A6 CAN (Canada), the PANZERHAUBITZE 2000 or the personnel carrier vehicle GTK BOXER (8x8, 32 ton class) used by the Bundeswehr. The BOXER got the new remote weapon station FLW 200+ with improved firepower. As an alternative to the already used weapons 7.62mm/12.7mm and 40mm (with FLW 200) the FLW 200+ is also capable to use a 20mm (Rh202 DM 6 A1 – 20x139mm) machine gun with a combat range of 2,000m. This version is slightly heavier (400kg incl. weapon and 100 rounds) than the FLW 200 and offers the same 2-axis stabilization. It also is combined with a CCD-colour zoom camera, cooled thermal imager and laser range finder.

Shown for the first time at the DSEi (UK), the DINGO HD (Heavy Duty) is also presented in Paris. Compared to the combat proven DINGO 2 the GVW has increased to 14.5 t and it based on a new Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG chassis (Sonderfahrgestell 14.5 t). The customer will have more payload and the same protection than he already knows from the DINGO 2.
New is also the GFF4 6x6 in the medical version for heavy terrain and proven protection. The driver and the mission compartment are put together in a continuous and highly protected cell. The GFF4 offers a wide variety in the 25t class, while the medical version is in the 22t class. It is an offer for the German protected medium medical vehicle (mSanKfZ) and a direct opponent to the yesterday introduced GDELS-MOWAG EAGL 6x6. Unique is also the integration of the medical equipment inside the vehicle. A loading system will help the medicals to load wounded in and out in an easy and fast way. The GFF4 medical version is located in between the heavy medical version of the BOXER and the light medical version with a DINGO 2 or EAGLE V platform. The GFF4 platform is a co-operation with IVECO and offers therefore a logistical commonality to combat proven and worldwide used vehicles and low life-time costs. 17m3 are available inside the mission module and offer a independent power supply.
