Netherlands Teijin Aramid developed the all new Twaron UD21 for hard armor solution, that should be lighter (271 g/m2) and stronger than conventional materials. The unidirectional (UD) laminate is specially designed for armored vehicles (land 6 sea) and can be applied either as a internal spall liner or externally as an add-on. So vehicles should be protected against direct hits, of bullets and fragments (from IED) and Explosively Formed Penetrators (EFP).
