DSEI 2015: Microflown AVISA Showcases Latest Advancements and Developments

Microflown AVISA, on booth N6-144, showcases the latest advancements and developments of the Acoustic Multi-Mission Sensor (AMMS), being deployed on a variety of platforms, including:

  • Vehicle Based Gunshot Localisation System (V-AMMS) – Combat proven since 2015. It was fielded with the Dutch Armed Forces, showing outstanding and reliable results.
  • Compound Protection  – Lightweight, easy deployable Compound Protection System locating Small Arms Fire (SAF) and Rockets, Artillery and Mortars (RAM), which can be used to secure military outposts, camps, checkpoints and border protection.
  • Perch and Listen Acoustic Multi-Mission Sensor – This is one of the latest advancements of the AMMS. The Perch and Listen application advance the AMMS with the capability to remotely relocate its position based on the user input. To highlight, it is merging the capability of a quadcopter with an AMMS. It can be used either standalone for gunshot localisation in difficult to reach terrains, or as part of the Compound Solution.
  • Clip – On Acoustic Pointer for Mini-UAVs -  The Clip On Acoustic Pointer is a complete stand-alone device that can be clipped on the airofoil of any fixed wing mini-UAV (pusher or puller) without affecting its flight performance and/or structural integrity. Suppressing the background noise of the UAV, the Clip On Acoustic Pointer hears in all directions in a full spherical bubble. This enables real time localisation of: Ground based Small Arms Fire (SAF), Rockets, Artillery and Mortars (RAM) firing positions and Airborne platforms in its neighbourhood. The Clip On Acoustic Pointer for Mini-UAVs is mission ready and flight tested on several platforms.

The ground based AMMS utilises Acoustic Vector Sensor technology allowing it to detect, classify and localise the full spectrum of acoustic battlefield signatures such as Rockets, Artillery, Mortars  (RAM) and Small Arms Fire (SAF).
