MILIPOL 2015: Rafael Unveils New Systems

At MILIPOL 2015, Rafael Defense Systems unveils three systems on booth 5E-10:

  • RAMBOT - a remote-controlled mini attack robot, armed with an explosive warhead Man-portable, lightweight and remote-controlled, RAMBOT easily locates targets inside buildings and beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) in urban areas. RAMBOT is ideal for forces maneuvering in urban environments, both inside and outside buildings, Military Police and Special Forces.
  • EZ-K9e - a detection system used to detect concealed IEDs. It creates an entirely new capability to defeat IED threats in urban areas and open terrain.
  • The EZ-K9e comes in a compact, light-weight package which can easily be adapted to various configurations to suit the demands of the operational environment.
  • WISDOM STONE - an extendable, adaptable and scalable intelligence analysis support system for automatic analysis of enormous amounts of data.

Among its other advanced systems, Rafael also presents:

  • TERRASONIC - Pipeline Integrity Monitoring System, enabling the detection, classification and localization of sound waves and vibrations being transmitted through soil and/or the pipeline itself.
  • SAMSON NL – a Non-Lethal Remote Weapon Station for effective crowd and riot control, enabling both the deterrence and containment of violent events.
  • CYBER DOME – an advanced suite of Cyber protection technologies designed to deal with current and future cyber-space threats against critical infrastructure systems, communication networks, etc.
  • Rafael's Pipelines Monitoring and Security System – Terra Sonic - is a passive geophonic suite designed to detect sounds generated on or in the vicinity of a pipeline. Based on an array of wireless, unattended acoustic/seismic sensors, the system enables the detection, classification and localisation of sound waves and vibrations being transmitted through soil and/or the pipeline itself.  This fully-automatic system passively monitors the pipelines by means of buried or camouflaged sensors linked via a dedicated internal wireless communication sub-system and long range communication to a Command and Control (C2) module strategically located at a Customer-furnished facility. Utilising Rafael-developed algorithms, the C2 Module processes all detected events according to system logic and previously-defined parameters, and alerts the operator in real-time only to those events identified as threatening - whether single or simultaneous and multiple in nature.  Human intervention is required only upon receipt of such an alert. The Terra Sonic system enables convenient connectivity to other, external monitoring and security systems, thereby enabling the customer to better utilise existing resources. The Terra Sonic system consists of seismic sensors linked via a dedicated internal RF Mesh link to a collecting Terminal Unit (TU) installed in the field.  Sensed information is relayed via RF link, within a locally-regulated free frequency range and at a power low enough to enable information flow from one Sensor Unit (SU) to the next active SU and/or Relay Unit (RU), until it ultimately reaches the TU. The TU relays this information via a CFE (Customer-Furnished Equipment) Long Range Communication System supporting Ethernet link for subsequent delivery to a C2 Module located elsewhere.
  • In addition, Rafael will showcase its comprehensive suite of advanced Security Integrated Systems, demonstrating its unique land, sea and aerial technologies, tailor-made solutions for critical asset protection programs. Rafael is well-versed in complex large-scale integration projects both in Israel and in various countries around the world.
