SCS Wins £9.7 Million Training and Exercise Support Contract

SCS, a Cohort company, recently won a two year contract to provide training and exercise support to the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Joint Forces Command (JFC).  The contract, valued at £9.7 million, commences on 1 April 2016 and includes options to extend it for a further two years.

SCS will provide a comprehensive support service for the design, development and delivery of Command Post Exercises and Computer-Assisted Exercises in combined and joint environments at an operational level.

The contract includes the provision of a full exercise scenario scripting capability, the design, installation and delivery of a full Exercise Planning and Management Communications Information Systems (CIS) capability and the provision and manning of a state-of-the-art, joint simulation system.

SCS will continue to provide a highly advanced Contingent Capability Reporting and Standards system and exercise mentoring and reporting capability as well as a new Defence Exercise Planning tool.

SCS has supported the MoD’s collective training of deployable military headquarters since 2000, winning five competitive rebids. Over the last 15 years, SCS has conducted a variety of exercises across the UK and overseas, providing effective training in the full range of military tasking from small-scale, non-kinetic stabilisation operations to medium-scale war fighting scenarios.

I am delighted that Joint Forces Command’s long standing relationship with SCS is set to continue for another two years," Brigadier Peter Cameron, Deputy Director of Joint Warfare, said. "My team are equally really looking forward to continuing to work with the pool of talented individuals that SCS bring to the table and utilising the support they proffer in delivering ‘best of class’ joint exercises. I am confident, as it has been hitherto, that the SCS Joint Warfare Support Team will remain at the core of this delivery and pivotal to the exercises’ part in the optimisation of the Joint Force."

Christian Cullinane, Managing Director of SCS, explained: "This contract cements SCS’s position as the market leader for large-scale, joint operational training and exercise support. We are delighted that we can continue to work with the MOD’s Joint Forces Command, building on over 15 years of experience, to offer this industry-leading training.”
