Singapore Airshow 2016: BDLI promotes ILA Berlin Airshow 2016

The German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and German aerospace companies present the full range of their technological capabilities and top-quality products at the 5th Singapore Airshow. A total of 15 German exhibitors are represented on the 400sqm stand, the "German Pavilion" number 95. 14 BDLI member companies have their own stands to exhibit their highlights.

In view of an export quota of over 60%, economic cooperation with the major industrial nations and markets is crucial for the success of the German aerospace industry. Asia offers excellent prospects for the future, mainly due to the high demand for mobility and the tremendous growth of air traffic in the region. Furthermore, Asia is an important partner for the German aerospace industry in terms of industrial cooperation in the fields of research, engineering and manufacturing.

Volker Thum, Managing Director of the BDLI, said ahead of the opening of the Singapore Airshow: "Our industry is expecting a demand for 32,000 new wide-body aircraft world-wide in the next two decades. 40% of them will be operated in the Asia-Pacific region. This makes the Asia-Pacific region the world‘s largest market." As to the strong presence of the German industry, Thum explains: "Our German exhibitors, which include system manufacturers and medium-sized suppliers alike, cover a wide range of capabilities, products and services. The German Pavilion provides an excellent platform for contacts, matchmaking and business deals between Asian and German companies in our industry."

With their presence in Singapore, the German aerospace industry at the same time promotes the next major event of the international aerospace industry: The ILA Berlin Airshow, which is organised by the BDLI and implemented by Messe Berlin GmbH.

Crucial issues affecting the future of our industry will be addressed in Berlin from 1-4 June 2016. Innovations and the latest technologies will be shown on the ground and in the air. ILA, in the heart of Europe, is an attractive international business and information platform for OEMs and suppliers as well as for professionals from the world of science and research.
