DSA 2016: ACASIA and Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity Establish Partnership

ACASIA, an integrated communications provider of the ASEAN region, has entered into a partnership with the certified and award-winning cybersecurity solution provider, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ACASIA, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity and Rohde & Schwarz Malaysia was signed during the 15th Defence Services Asia 2016 in the presence of YB Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Minister of Defence Malaysia.

Through this partnership, we hope customers will be able to experience secured end-to-end solution via ACASIA’s ASEAN Regional Connectivity (aRC) which will be value added by Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity with their encryption tools which formed aRC+,“ Azmal Yahya, CEO of ACASIA. aRC+ is an enhancement of ASEAN Regional Connectivity (aRC) by having a solution package data communication services over ACASIA’s MPLS network. Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity offers a wide range of technologically leading solutions for information and network security. Highly secured encryption solutions, next-generation firewalls and software for network analysis and endpoint security protect enterprises and public institutions worldwide against cyber espionage and cyberattacks.

ACASIA is a collaboration between seven (7) major ASEAN telecommunications companies that committed in assisting ASEAN in its goal of becoming an integrated ASEAN community alongside a more dynamic and competitive region by capitalizing the use of information and communications technology (ICT). ACASIA firmly believes that through ICT, ASEAN will be able to accelerate its vision of becoming a region with single market and production base characteristic. The seven (7) partners namely - Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT) from Thailand, Indosat Ooredoo from Indonesia, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) from the Philippines, Singtel Group (SINGTEL) from Singapore, Telekom Brunei Berhad (TELBRU) from Brunei, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) from Malaysia and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) from Vietnam. ACASIA pledged five initiatives to facilitate ASEAN’s ICT Masterplan 2015 – the ASEAN Command Centre (aCC), ASEAN Regional Connectivity (aRC), ASEAN Broadcast Hub (aBH), ASEAN Internet Exchange (aIX) and ASEAN Market Place (aMP).
