Eurosatory 2016: Chemring Group Highlights Global Land and Aerospace Defence Capabilities

Chemring Group is exhibiting in the UK pavilion Hall 5, Stand #H656, highlighting the company’s three market sectors: Countermeasures, Sensors & Electronics, and Energetic Systems. Based in the UK, Chemring provides a range of high technology aerospace, defence and security products to more than 50 countries around the world.

With more than 50% of the world market, according to the company, Chemring is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced expendable countermeasures and countermeasures suites for protecting air, sea and land platforms against guided missile threats. Its portfolio of products include conventional and advanced flares, special material decoys, BOL IR, chaff, naval countermeasures, naval decoy launchers and off-board electronic RF countermeasures.

Chemring also has some of the world leading sensor technologies to protect armed forces throughout the world against IED, electronic, chemical, biological and cyber attacks. The company sees itself as pioneers of vehicle mounted, robot mounted and handheld IED and mine detection, using Ground Penetrating Radar. As one of the largest suppliers of chemical and biological detection equipment to the US DoD, Chemring offers advanced point and standoff detection and identification equipment and has expanded to support homeland and public safety markets.  Its cyber security and electronic warfare portfolio guards against communications and network threats to support counter-terrorism operations.

Chemring’s energetic systems are safety-critical components of missiles, aircraft and space launch systems, including satellite deployment, aircrew egress and missile self-destruct. Chemring also manufactures a range of pyrotechnic products that are used by militaries and security forces around the world for screening, signalling and illumination. In addition, Chemring produces a specialist range of high explosive products, including minefield clearance systems, demolition stores and 40mm ordnance.
