Eurosatory 2016: Cobham Delivers Cutting-Edge Capabilities

At Eurosatory, in hall 5a on stand #K730, Cobham showcases a range of flexible solutions, both commercial and off the shelf or niche/specialist products.

Counter-IED Systems: Cobham is a world leader in ground penetrating radar (GPR), having supplied over 5000 systems for detection of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). These include the MINEHOUND Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) product that combines Cobham’s cutting-edge GPR technology with a Vallon metal detector; the WIREHOUND new handheld wire detector specifically tuned to the detection of command and interconnection wires; and the AMULET modular detection system is low size, weight and power, as well as easy to use, suitable for fitting to a variety of platforms, from small robotic systems to the largest of military vehicles.

Furthermore, the company is a leading provider of integrated homeland security solutions and unmanned platforms, utilising over 30 years of expertise in this highly specialised field. The robotic systems tEODor and telemax are now in service in more than 50 countries around the world totaling to more than 600 robotic systems; while the TEL600 series of vehicles that deal with the demanding tasks of identification and removal of explosive and incendiary devices, especially if there is suspicion of a dirty bomb. Today more than 150 TEL600 Service vehicles support customers around the world.

Also, for more than 50 years, Cobham has designed and produced robust sliprings for turrets of military vehicles, radars, weapons systems and optronic defence applications which are capable of withstanding the intense vibrations experienced during operations. Cobham is a developer of additional functionality combining it’s slipring functions with microwave joints, swivel joints, hydraulic joints, emitters and fibre-optics.
