Aeryon Labs Announces the SKYRANGER Small Unmanned Aerial System (UAS)

Today, Aeryon Labs launched the Aeryon SKYRANGER small UAS (SUAS), a new VTOL system featuring an all-new airframe and integrated design, and representing a significant leap forward in capabilities for military, public safety, and commercial applications. With the completion of extensive field testing and first customer trials, the Aeryon SKYRANGER is now available for further demonstrations and orders - with priority to military and government customers worldwide.

Designed as software and payload platforms, Aeryon SUAS provide advanced features and capabilities including an intuitive touchscreen interface that provides simple point-and-click navigation and camera control, and seamless automated functions and safety features.

The Aeryon SKYRANGER brings new capabilities to the field-tested and battle-proven Aeryon SUAS platform, which has seen continuous development and innovation since the Aeryon SCOUT was launched in 2009.

The Aeryon SUAS platform is the most mature, reliable, and capable system available on the market. With the Aeryon SKYRANGER we are again setting a new benchmark for system reliability and integration, flight endurance and performance, and advanced functionality while maintaining operator ease-of-use,” said Dave Kroetsch, Aeryon's President. “The Aeryon SCOUT remains an important part of Aeryon's product line - a high performance system at an attractive price point for public safety and commercial customers.”

Like the Aeryon SCOUT, SKYRANGER is a VTOL SUAS, ideal for providing continuous eyes-on-target for situational awareness, operations in confined environments, and low-risk launch and retrieval without peripheral equipment. SKYRANGER is ideally suited for both land and maritime military use including covert ISR, convoy and compound security, and ship boarding operations.

Selected key features of the Aeryon SKYRANGER include, up to 50-minute endurance with payload; folding design includes battery and payload for powered standby, and easy field component replacement in seconds, without tools; stabilised, simultaneously streaming dual EO/IR cameras; low-latency digital 256bit encrypted network with extensible range beyond 5km; high wind tolerance - 40mph (65kmh) sustained, 55mph (90kmh) gusts; ruggedised and weather-sealed; and single-operator touchscreen interface – point-and-click control, dynamic flight planning.

Aeryon Labs is the small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) provider at the center of major world events and international media stories. A recognized technology and industry leader, Aeryon Labs is the trusted partner of civil and military customers, resellers, and other commercial business partners around the globe. Field-tested and battle-proven, the Aeryon sUAS platform brings secure, real-time, simultaneous situational awareness to ground operators and remote command. Immediate deployment, small size and quiet operation, specialized imaging payloads, and intuitive controls ensure Aeryon sUAS – including the Aeryon Scout™ and Aeryon SkyRanger™ – operate reliably in all-weather environments for a wide range of military, public safety and commercial applications.

IDEF 2013 - Microflown AVISA

Microflown AVISA is showing the latest developments in the field of Acoustic Vector Sensor technology in salon 5, booth number 511.

AMMS | Acoustic Multi Mission Sensor

The ground based AMMS utilises  Acoustic Vector Sensor technology allowing it to detect, classify and localise the full spectrum of acoustic battlefield signatures such as mortars, RPGs and small arms fire.

RAM-SCORE | Training Range System

RAM-SCORE is a passive acoustic localisation system for rocket, artillery and mortar (RAM) training and proving ranges, providing fast and accurate location reports of points of impact (POI) and points of origin (POO) on the range. The system has been developed in cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Army to support shooting exercises and to ensure safety on training ranges.

RAM-LOC | RAM Localisation System

This system is designed to be used as part of a C-RAM (Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar) system, locating enemy firing positions over a wide area. Each RAM-LOC system typically comprises multiple remote operated ground sensors, a wireless communication system, and a command centre processor.

UAV BASED | Acoustic Target Acquisition

Microflown’s Acoustic Vector Sensors can be used for Acoustic Target Localisation on UAV platforms. Acoustic Vector Sensors on‑board the UAV, together with local data processing, can detect and localise gunshots and artillery breaks on the ground.

AVS EVALUATION KIT | Training Range System

The Evaluation kit offers an easy opportunity to get acquainted with Microflowns worldwide unique Acoustic Vector Sensor technology. The extremely small and light-weight Acoustic Vector Sensors are capable of detecting, localising, identifying and tracking sound sources in 2D or 3D. This makes them beneficial for the defense industry, as (target) source locating sensors, increasing situational awareness.

IDEF 2013 - Embraer Defense & Security

Embraer Defense & Security (D&S) is located in Pavilion 1205 at Salon 12, and promotes a broad range of integrated solutions that combine a high technological level and operational efficiency at competitive acquisition and operating costs.

Embraer KC-390

This includes the A-29 Super TUCANO light attack airplane and advanced trainer and the KC-390 military airlifter and tanker. The Super TUCANO was recently selected for the USAF’s Light Air Support (LAS) programme to perform counter insurgency missions in Afghanistan. The KC-390, which is currently under development, has 60 letters of intent to purchase from six nations and will set a new standard for medium-sized military transport aircraft, in terms of performance and payload capacity.
