PROTECH Tactical unveiled the SHIFT 360, an innovative scalable armour system. In its simplest form, the SHIFT 360 is a sleek plate rack armor carrier. By adding accessories such as panel inserts, outer cummerbund, yoke and lower abdomen/spine protection for a variety of configurations, officers can fully customize their armor for mission-specific requirements. Stōn Camo, the original multi-terrain application solution for concealment, is now available for a variety of outdoor products from firearms, firearm accessories, blinds, fishing gear and boats, outdoor apparel to ATV's. Unlike available camo options that allow the outdoorsman only one option in terrain, season and habitat, Stōn Camo is designed to provide maximum concealment throughout the seasons, in a variety of habitats, geography and terrain. Concealment is maintained whether at close range or at a distance due to the larger overall print tiling that eliminates repeating patterns, thus allowing for a more natural, congruous appearance. The design of Stōn Camo is built on a natural layering of elements such as color and surface qualities found in boulders, rocks and the surrounding ground cover. The pattern provides not only variable depth but realistic, naturally occurring elements found in environments from high desert to lush marsh areas. Customisation of  the Stōn Camo application is as easy as changing the base color. Base colors range from earth and stone tones to cobalt blues and "KinkyPink."

An innovative device – The Blast Tracker – from Med-Eng is arming front line personnel and those who routinely face blast and shockwave events with valuable information. With exposure data instantly displayed and logged to a personalised unit not much larger than a credit card, The Blast Tracker can be mounted almost anywhere. The unit captures valuable data for better understanding of blast overpressure on the body’s critical organs, correlation with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), and addresses the practical need to mitigate risks to users during live operations and training. The Blast Tracker is one of the most advanced devices of its kind, bringing current, historical and cumulative blast exposure to users’ fingertips. Unlike other sensors, the Blast Tracker displays, records and wirelessly downloads specific blast event data in the field, allowing field personnel to make decisions without delay.

"Protecting frontline personnel is at the core of what Med-Eng does and we are proud to be at the leading edge of this increasingly important occupational health effort,” said Dr. Aris Makris, Med-Eng Chief Technology Officer.

The Blast Tracker is Bluetooth-enabled for wireless download and on-the-spot data analysis, which gives team leaders instant feedback for positioning their forces in safer configurations. The palm-sized sensor easily mounts on a helmet, body, or physical structure.  Its battery recharges wirelessly, eliminating cables and allowing it to be deployed in the field for up to 100 hours of operation over a duration of up to a year on a single charge. With historical and cumulative forensic data recorded on a Blast Tracker, medical providers can glean valuable knowledge about how traumatic brain injuries and related conditions correlate to repeated blast exposure – substantial health issues that are currently poorly understood. For unexpected blast events, the device can also be used as a ‘black box’ of forensic data. The Blast Tracker is featured at SHOT Show booth #12762.

Defense Technology is unveiling a new Cerakote coating for their Model 1327 and 1315 Single Launchers at booth #12762. According to studies by Cerakote, the finish has abrasion-resistance far superior to any other standard gun coatings and outlasts other finishes in salt spray testing and elevated environmental exposure.

To meet the stringent demands of our customers, our 1327 and 1315 launcher barrels now come standard with Prismatic Powders “Cerakote” black finish,” said John Kapeles, Defense Technology Director. “The Cerakote finish enhances abrasion and wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength and hardness.”

In addition to the barrel color, the Model 1327 40mm Single Launcher is also available in orange, tan and green at an additional cost. In addition, Defense Technology now offers upgrade kits for owners of the 1325 launcher to match the features of the 1327 launcher, including the standard black Cerakote coating.
