It is built around a mock town known as “Aeuli”, consisting of 23 buildings equipped with over 1,000 devices used to control and display the current status of every feature the building has. These features include; breach-points, windows, doors and staircases. Having these features controlled allows their usable status to change during the course of the training. This makes trainees recognise events around them and think on their feet, dramatically improving the effectiveness of the training.

OSG also displays its ADI technology for transparent armor. The ADI system replaces the conventional PC No-spall (shrapnel) plastic layer in transparent armour. The No-spall layer is typically attached to the ‘safe side’ of the glass, but it is subject to delamination and scratching, and requires careful maintenance, reducing the lifecycle of the transparent armor. OSG’s ADI technology delivers the same protection while removing the need for the plastic, effectively doubling the lifecycle of the transparent armor from 3-5 years to 4-9 years.

Saab has signed a contract with the Irish Defence Forces to provide upgrades to Ireland's RBS 70 air defence missile systems. The order has a value of approximately SEK40 million and includes deliveries of improved firing units, new simulators, night vision equipment and associated weapons support.
Ireland has requested updates to its RBS 70 systems. This recently-signed contract provides for new operator training simulators, upgraded fire units to support the BORC night-capable sight and the latest Bolide missile, new external power supplies plus a four-year support agreement. The Irish order underlines the continuous enhancement of RBS 70 system capabilities.
"This order is very important because it demonstrates the reliability of the RBS 70 system. It is a modern and reliable system which also has a long lifespan. For the customers it is a great advantage that the system can be upgraded for future use," says Rickard Svensson, Director Marketing and Sales, Saab´s Market Area Western Europe.
Deliveries will be made during 2015.

The remote controlled systems, developed by UK based BCB International can land on water with a ‘fly and dip’ system and will be used in a research programme by MIT’s SENSEable City Lab to collect water samples for analysis.
Testing the water quality is currently done manually using boats which is time consuming and has to take into account traffic on the waterway. The link up between BCB and MIT came through the Welsh Government’s membership of MIT’s International Liaison Programme which enables companies in Wales to attend a series of conferences on technology, innovation and ICT.
One of the world's only multi-piece all terrain rubber run flat tyre inserts designed for large armoured fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery is on display for the first time at Eurosatory 2014.
The Tyron Military ATR run flat is a patented design which can be fitted without special tools. It is on show in Hall 5 on stand K617. The ATR range is designed to fit some of the largest military tyres such as the 1600 R20, and is displayed fitted to a Tyron 20x10 bolt together alloy wheel.
The military ATRs are fitted without any special tools due to their multipart construction. This enables the mechanics to install the segments inside the tyre without a hydraulic press before the tyre and run flat are mounted on the wheel. With the example on display the wheel and tyre are locked together using a bolt on rim, which also only requires standard tools.
"We have developed a novel solution to meet defence and security users' needs. Run flats have traditionally been made in one piece, which had to be forced into the tyres using a specialised hydraulic machine, for larger wheel sizes this becomes progressively more difficult," said Richard Glazebrook, Chief Executive of Tyron Developments.
A new development in purpose designed Unmanned Ground Vehicles is on display at Eurosatory for the first time. DOK-ING, a leading developer of heavy weight UGVs, is show casing one of its latest developments a robotic manipulator arm which can be fitted to its proven MV-4 in Hall 6, stand D697.
The manipulator arm provides the UGV operator with the ability to remotely lift and move objects such as telegraph poles or tree trunks which may hindering the line of advance. Other recent developments include a rear fork lift and rear shovel. These new additions widens further the abilities of the MV-4, which already includes flails, grippers, rollers and dozer blades, making it capable of fulfilling a wide range of combat engineer tasks.
Also on the stand is a display of the company's other robust UGVs. These include the DOK-ING MV-10, a medium weight demining remotely operated vehicle which is designed to clear anti-personnel and anti-tank mines along with unexploded ordnance.
