Singapore Airshow: Elbit Systems Showcases a Full Array of Capabilities

Elbit Systems is featuring a wide spectrum of innovative next-generation systems at Singapore Air Show, through displays, live demos, and presentations of the company’s core technologies and cutting-edge solutions answering the modern battlefield's demands for connectivity, interoperability and net-centric approaches, merging systems and platforms for enhanced speed, precision and intelligence.

The following is highlighted at the company’s booth:

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)

Elbit Systems is a leading provider of high performance turnkey UAS solutions, including advanced air vehicles, ground control stations and intelligence management centres. The company's UAS have earned international recognition in the global war on terrorism and are the backbone of the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) and other world leading Armed Forces' UAS fleets.


HERMES 900 (making a real-size appearance, equipped with multiple advanced payloads): This UAS leads its class in multi-mission performance is a next-generation medium altitude long endurance (MALE) UAS featuring multi-mission, multi-payload capabilities with class leading payload carrying capacity.

HERMES 900 New Configuration Adapted for Maritime Missions 

In the maritime configuration, the payloads suite includes up to 350kg in maritime surveillance radar, AIS, electro-optical (EO) multi-sensor payload and electronic surveillance systems. It has the endurance to cover vast ocean areas, and has redundant LOS and satellite communications links and radio relay, enabling the operator to ‘talk through’ to vessels at sea. The aerodynamic efficiency of the HERMES 900 enables frequent changes in flight profiles, enabling visual identification of vessels at sea in addition to the ISAR capability provided by the radar. Satellite communication enables it to fly to mission areas at extended ranges as far as 1000 nautical miles (NM) from shore.

Recognising the extraordinary challenge of monitoring the Economical Exclusion Zones (EEZ) and vast shoreline, Elbit Systems has teamed with Windward.

MarInt, Windward's proprietary satellite-based maritime analytics system is capable of covering any area of interest, delivering insightful maritime domain awareness with diverse applications such as EEZ monitoring, illegal fishery monitoring, regional traffic analysis and port traffic management.

By leveraging multiple earth observation satellites and other readily available data sources, MarInt overcomes data overload and conducts multi-source data integration, applying contextual and geo-specific behaviour and discrepancy analysis to generate actionable insights.

The HERMES 900 multi-mission UAS is making a real-size appearance in Singapore, displayed on a podium at booth G53 together with the following:

SIGINT Payloads for UAS, designed to meet the full range of UAS tactical and strategic mission requirements.


EMERALD (AES-210) is a fully-featured ESM/ELINT system installable on a variety of platforms of modern forces. EMERALD ensures mission-readiness in the most challenging scenarios, including: surveillance, information-gathering, geolocation, enemy radars targeting and platform self-protection.

SkyFix Family - SKYFIX is a compact, fully featured, lightweight, high-precision and modular airborne COMINT/DF system, designed to meet the full range of UAS tactical and strategic mission requirements.

SKYFIX DF uses a correlative interferometer technique and wide aperture high precision antenna array, providing excellent DF accuracy, combined with fast DOA integration time. SKYFIX DF enables monitoring of selected transmissions, while simultaneously performing spectrum scan and DF calculations.

SKYFIX Cellular phone surveillance and location system is capable of monitoring, recording, and transmitting GSM phone communications. It has source phone location capability and the ability to transmit gathered intelligence information to a variety of sources on the ground with the use of data links.

SKYFIX Satellite phone surveillance and location has a wide coverage reception of satellite communications transmissions, it is unique in its ability to gather intelligence in remote areas in real time with satellite phones transmitting from the air. Its airborne capabilities ensure soldiers’ safety by maintaining safe distance from the transmitting source while pinpointing precise location.

SKYJAM is an airborne COMJAM system that is modular, flexible and configured to handle emerging threats. The system can manage multiple frequency sub-bands prepared with predefined threat lists and jamming priorities

Electronic Warfare and EO for Airborne Platforms

The following is presented in a 1:1 scale model:

C-MUSIC: Multi-spectral Infrared fibre-laser based DIRCM (direct infrared countermeasures) system, showcased in an impressive 2.7m long pod hung from the booth's ceiling, demonstrating its outstanding aerodynamic structure. The pod is outfitted with see-through windows to enable visitors to examine the advanced fibre laser based DIRCM mirror turret, as well as the PAWS1 (IR Passive Approach Warning System) sensors.

J-MUSIC: A DIRCM system for the protection of large aircraft (heavy transporters, tankers, VIP jets, and others), J-MUSIC uses the same DIRCM as  in C-MUSIC (see below). The system can be easily integrated on a wide range of aircraft, in a single or dual turret configuration. The system, including the PAWS1, was selected for Embraer's KC-390 programme for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

Mini-MUSIC is an advanced, flight-tested DIRCM system in a single compact and lightweight package that provides high-performance protection against MANPADS for small and medium sized rotary and fixed-wing platforms.


Miniature Reactive Jammer (MRJ), a new Electronic Warfare (EW) system that jams Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RC-IEDs) activated against armored and VIP vehicles. The system, operates in high frequency ranges, is suitable for protection of any vehicular platform and is designed for a range of missions dealing with continuous border security, personal security, incursions into hostile areas and protection of vehicle convoys.

DCoMPASS, the latest member of the CoMPASS family of electro-optical payloads, includes the Digital Compact Multi-Purpose Advanced Stabilized System combining the most advanced digital electronics and networking technologies with the high performance capabilities of the legacy CoMPASS family of payloads. DCoMPASS introduces a number of market leading operational benefits, exceptional high resolution digital imagery, precise target location using on gimbal IMU, advanced tracking and image processing algorithms, all packed in the lightest single LRU, stabilised payload in its class.

Advanced Multi-Sensor Payload System (AMPS): Optimised for a full-range of airborne intelligence tasks, AMPS completes the cycle that starts with initial gathering of vital intelligence and ends with Bomb Damage Assessment (BDA).

Unified Self Protection Suite for Helicopters and Transport Aircraft offering advanced EW capabilities packed into a single LRU, delivering superior identification and location under challenging conditions.

Helicopters Solutions

Elbit Systems, with its comprehensive airborne systems capabilities, can provide a single sensor or an entire cockpit avionic suite.

ANVIS/HUD24 Featuring LOS – The new-generation ANVIS/HUD24 designed to provide enhanced day/ night situational awareness and increased survivability, includes LOS technology enhancing crew coordination while facilitating the operation of the helicopters’ systems and improved mission effectiveness. This capability is demonstrated live at the company’s booth.

Elbit Systems CockpitNG is based on a smart central large area display (LAD), which includes all avionic components in one suite. The display is fully integrated with the Helmet Mounted and Head-Up Displays. All of the systems' components were developed in a “Multi-touch-Screen" technology in order to allow the pilot to operate the aircraft in a smooth and customizable manner. This new modular solution enhances mission excellence and reduced aircrew workload and can be tailored to multiple platforms offering full multi-mission support for attack, emergency services, training and air support missions.

TARGO Helmet Mounted Avionics (HMA) and EVA (Embedded Virtual Avionics) is a unique combination for a fully embedded training experience. TARGO enables pilots to plan, rehearse, fly and debrief using their personal helmets. Installing EVA on a basic or advanced trainer aircraft transforms the aircraft into a virtual advanced fighter while maintaining the hourly training costs of a trainer. The EVA virtual avionics suite combined with TARGO is designed to shorten the large training gap existing today between trainer and modern fighter aircraft.

Elbit’s software solutions for the infantry, together with the decades of communications experience of Tadiran Communications, offers extensive, battle-proven expertise for the most intense combat scenarios.
