Drakensberg SPRINGBUCK APC at DSA 2012


Drakensberg Truck Manufacturers, a privately owned South African armoured vehicles company, is exhibiting in hall 1 booth 1010K, where visitors have the opportunity to find out why the SPRINGBUCK APC has become so popular in the defence industry.

This permanent 4x4 vehicle not only boast manoeuvrability but with its powerful MWM 6l engine also handles effortlessly on the open road.  Special attention has been given to the ergonomics of the driver and its 10 passengers. With a ballistic protection of B6 upgradeable to B7, the all-steel armoured v-shaped hull is designed to withstand a TM57 landmine under the hull or two under any wheel. The standard SPRINGBUCK APC configuration can be easily adapted to various applications such as command vehicle, ambulance and cash-in-transit vehicle, and by the addition of a variety of turret-mounted weaponry the vehicle can be effectively used as a combat vehicle. The SPRINGBUCK APC is designed for ease of operation and repair, using internationally available drive-line components for assured reliability as well as availability of parts.
