Faun Trackway Showcases Product Portfolio At DSA 2012

Faun Trackway, a leading manufacturer of portable roadways and runways, is showcasing its suite of aluminium roadway products on stand 4023.
Among Faun Trackway’s core products is its Heavy Ground Mobility System (HGMS), which is a ground-surfacing aluminium matting that can withstand weights of up to 70 tonnes. The HGMS has been supplied to over 35 Armed Forces worldwide and can be used to aid military and disaster-relief missions in a wide variety of terrains such as sand, snow and marshland. The 50m system can be deployed by two men in six minutes and prevents ruts forming in the ground and military vehicles from becoming bogged down.
The Turkish Military has recently received a set of HGMS after investing £18 million in the technology.

Faun Trackway’s Vehicle Recovery Mats (VRMs) are made of the same durable aluminium matting as the HGMS and are used to mobilise vehicles that have become stuck in difficult terrain.
VRMs provide military vehicles with a non-slip surface so they can gain traction and be quickly recovered.

Other systems in FAUN TRACKWAY’s portfolio include several temporary runway products including the new UAV Landing Mat and the Helicopter Landing Mat (HLM).
The firm is currently developing a new Aircraft Landing Mat for the US Armed Forces, which is due to be launched later this year.

Chris Kendall, Director at Faun Trackway, said: “Armed Forces are required to work in a wide variety of challenging climates around the globe and senior personnel have to be sure that their vital vehicle assets can remain mobile and protected. Our aluminium roadway and runway solutions are some of the most durable on the market and exhibitions like DSA give us an ideal opportunity to demonstrate what our wide product range is capable of.
